GT Precision Deploys SinglePoint

March 2006: County Durham based GT Precision, part of the international GT Group, has taken the decision to expand on its Powerway investment by adding the powerful SinglePoint module from Syncronology.

The deployment of SinglePoint will enable design, engineering, quality and production team members to assemble collections of documents and data originating and stored on disparate IT systems into one single unified view and to then publish that view to a specified consumer audience.

All current methods achieving this are 100% manual which is a situation that the management of GT were no longer prepared to live with. The possibility of out of date information penetrating the manufacturing process is a risk that faces all production plants but the deployment of SinglePoint means that end users can now only access current approved information from one simple screen.

SinglePoint delivers the added benefit of providing a comprehensive lifecycle audit trail and controllable access to superseded documents and collections and will offer them a huge leap forwards in terms of change management thanks to Powerway’s approval workflow engine.

This development comes on the heels of GT’s successful deployment of Powerway’s software for managing the APQP and PPAP process last year. We look forward to continuing our work with GT and to building an ever more complete system to meet the compliance and engineering needs of today’s demanding markets.

About GT Group

The GT Group is an international organisation with over 35 years of commitment to excellence in engineering design and manufacturing, exporting its products and services to more than 60 countries throughout the world.

GT Group retains its head office in the United Kingdom and consists of six interactive organisations; namely GT Diecastings, GT Precision Products (GTPP), GT Project Engineering (GTPE), GT Seals and Moulding (Aldona Seals), GT Coatings and Alpha Process Controls International, all offer independently and collectively single source solutions and services to the following engineering industrial segments.

High pressure aluminium die casting and zinc die casting with press capacities ranging from 20 to 1500 tonnes, the pressure die castings can be machined, powder coated and assembled. With real time x-ray facilities on site GT Diecastings can view and control the level of porosity found in die castings. Plant automation can be made available for high volume projects and currently GT Diecastings are operating two fully robotic cells for the production, machining, and finishing of aluminium pressure die castings. Typical alloys cast include LM6, LM24 and Mazak, markets served include automotive, white goods, hygiene, communications and electrical industries.

Automotive products, exhaust brakes, EPM’s, engine brakes, flap brakes, vacuum, pumps, actuator clutch servos, valves, design, R&D, 3D solid modelling, EGR valves, exhaust gas recirculation emission controls. Outsourcing service to OEM companies for procurement, machining, assembly and testing of product.
