BI Composites Extend Powerway System to Include TS 16949 and

Corrective Action.

October 2005: Cannock based moulded automotive components company BI

Composites, part of the international BI Group of companies, has extended its

current Powerway system to include solutions for TS 16949 and for managing

non-conformances and corrective actions.

BI Composites have been a long term user of Powerway Quality Planner application,

which is also in use at of hundreds of other automotive supply companies worldwide.

The software helps generate and manage all the required APQP and PPAP information

and documentation and with its ability to link data to MS Project is a very powerful

tool.

The company has committed to achieving TS status during 2006 and see Powerway’s

Writer Tools and Template Packs as a way of accelerating that process. These tools

present the user with the ability to generate Level I, II and III documents quickly

from pre-written TS16949 generic content. The information within these documents

is then managed centrally as “data” which greatly speeds up making changes in the

future.

As TS is focussed so heavily on continual improvement, BI felt it wise to implement

Powerway’s Corrective Action software as part of the overall programme. This tool

allows users to register electronic non-conformance reports (NCR’s) and to receive

and deal with the Corrective Action in a workflow environment. Limitless reporting is

also possible through the addition of Corrective Action Reporter.

Plans are also in motion to extend the use of Powerway to their Halesowen site.

We look forward to carrying on our successful relationship with BI Composites.
